Resources for Writers

General writing:
http://writingexercises.co.uk/index.php
http://www.examiner.com/article/ten-questions-to-ask-a-friend-who-just-read-your-novel
http://thewritingcafe.tumblr.com/
These sites all have a very broad range of advice and tips, as well as an organized and easy-to-use layout.

Character names:
http://nameberry.com/
http://www.babynamewizard.com/
These websites are very popular among writers because they can give you the meaning and origin of a name, as well as names of similar pronunciation, spelling, or background.

Fun map creator (to help visualize your fictional world):
http://www-cs-students.stanford.edu/~amitp/game-programming/polygon-map-generation/demo.html I ended up spending a little too much time on this website the first time I found it. It's a really interesting way to get an idea of how you want your fantasy land layout to look, which I know is something many fantasy writers like to have in mind.
